Writing doesn’t always need to be so serious, it can be a lot of fun as well.
There are a multitude of topics that can be written about entertainingly, and that can give students a break from the sometimes overwhelming opinion or narrative writing that is based on facts.
This list is all in the interest of writing for the pure pleasure of writing.
Using Prompts
You can assign these any way you want; they’re supposed to be fun.
You might try keeping these in a jar on your desk and having students pick one whenever they finish other writing assignments.
Or have a student choose a prompt that the whole group can address and see the different responses that come after. Have Fun!
